A chalice was historically made from precious metals and symbolically used in celebration of virtue. This is a humble chalice made from clay, and adorned not with gemstones but with faces looking outwards around the rim of the cup. It does not imply absurd wealth as a precondition for virtue, instead its material and symbolism acknowledge the nobility of the ordinary life. We hope this chalice might be used to celebrate modest victories.
